Hello there, my name is Shaq. Quite
frequently I asked a question. Which is when is the best time of the day to do a
driving test? I thought I make a quick video to answer these questions. Now in
my opinion, if you are ready for your test, the time should make no difference
at all. However, there are a few things that you may want to take into account
when you book your driving test. If you have taken all your driving lessons on a
particular day and a particular time. For example, let's say you've taken all your
lessons on a Sunday morning at 8 a.m. and then you were to book your driving
test on a Friday afternoon let's say 3 p.m.
You would definitely be in for a shock. The road and traffic conditions will be
completely different to what you are used to. Another thing that you may want
to take into account is that Danish scientists has recently found that the
ability to perform basic tests decreases throughout the day.
According to these
scientists, you have a 5 percent better chance of passing your driving test at 8
o'clock in the morning than you do at 3 p.m. in the afternoon. Now before you all
decide to book your driving test early in the morning, there is something else
that you may want to take into account. The early morning tests are more likely
to be cancelled than at any other time of the day. Driving tests are cancelled
by the DVSA usually for two reasons. Firstly the
examiner may phone in sick. So if the examiner phoned the office at let's say 7
o'clock in the morning and said I'm not coming into work today.
I'm not feeling well. it may take the DVSA one, two, maybe three hours to arrange
alternative cover. Those tests from seven o'clock to let's say ten eleven o'clock
will be canceled and rearranged. Also, during the winter months the early
morning tests are usually cancelled due to ice on the roads.
Throughout the
daytime as a temperature rises, the ice clears and the driving tests are
conducted the tests that are conducted. During the rush hour tend to involve
less driving. However, there is more start/stop traffic, more clutch control
and a lot of mirror work. The driving tests that are taken off peak hours,
let's say between 10 o'clock and 2 o'clock will involve less traffic.
It may seem easier but the exam that will take you further afield covering
more dual carriageways and multi-lane roundabouts. Regardless of what time your
test is, if you drive positively and safe, you will pass your driving test.
